"Institute" sounds to me like a German post-rock DJ collective, but it's the name of Gavin Rossdale's new band. And "Diistort Yourself" sounds like the name of a Candlebox album from 1992, but it's what Institute is calling their first album, which, according to Rossdale, is a move away from the thick, melodic soup of Bush's grunge days. In order to find a harder sound, Rossdale has recruited two members of Helmet: Chris Troyner on guitar, and Page Hamilton as producer. Of course, Rossdale is not only MOT but also BF to Gwen Stefani, whose voice appears on one of the tracks. Any chance he's the guy who convinced her to cover Fiddler on the Roof?
