Radical Jewish culture has a new epicenter. Using funds from his Tzadik label, [John Zorn](http://www.jewsrock.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=challah.view&page=Z) has just opened The Stone, a non-profit performance space in New York’s Alphabet City. Zorn is serious about this stuff: the club doesn’t even sell t-shirts or refreshments. $10 gets you a night of experimental music, and you can buy your own soda after.

The L Magazine worries that the Stone isn't getting enough media attention; Brooklyn Vegan disagrees. Either way, tonight's show features Jim O'Rourke, the indie darling best known for his work with Tortoise and Wilco, so surely the club won't remain ignored for long.
