# Wind of change: Scorpions visit Israel

German hard-rockers the Scorpions will play Israel for the first time on July 7, reports the [Jerusalem Post](http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1119320276899&apage=1&ref=jewsrock.org). Best known for the classic rock staple “Rock You Like a Hurricane” and the Cold War ballad “Wind of Change,” the band is commemorating its Israeli debut with a surprising single: “Jerusalem of Gold,” performed with Israeli pop star Liel Kolet. The teenaged singer invited the Scorpions to play in her country after meeting the band in Berlin at a benefit for tsunami victims. According to her [manager](http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3065299,00.html?ref=jewsrock.org), “Kolet found meeting them even more exciting than meeting Clinton and Bono” – encounters that we imagine rocked, but not necessarily at hurricane-like levels.
